    Ms. Naomi Meulemans

    Founder

    Naomi holds a Master from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, where she examined the pigment analyses of African incarnates on 19th century Flemish painting. She participated in the Art History BA program at KU Leuven, where she focused on the modern art market in NYC. Continuing her practice in art conservation she worked in NYC (2010-2014) for the Chelsea based studio Fine Arts Conservation Group. She is currently a senior art conservator at The Phoebus Foundation in Antwerp, where she is responsible for the Modern Art conservation department. Naomi’s recent publication ‘Vogel’ analyzes the myth of spontaneity behind the European post-war COBRA artist Karel Appel. (Vogel, Karel Appel en de Mythe van het Maken, 2019). Together with conservator Giovanna Tamà she established Private Art Tours in 2018, an engagement to bring hidden artifacts and forgotten history closer to a broader audience.
